Dr. Ahmed Kelani, Chairman and Managing Director of EIPICO, received Eng. Mohamed Zada, Assistant Minister of Industry, and Ms. Yasmin Farid, Director of the Industrial Modernization Center (IMC), at EIPICO factories on Monday, June 8, 2026.
During the visit, Dr. Ahmed Kelani reviewed EIPICO’s manufacturing capabilities, business volume, and recent achievements. He also highlighted EIPICO’s strategic vision to deepen the domestic pharmaceutical industry by expanding the production of biological and biosimilar products. This is being driven by the establishment of the "EIPICO 3" factory, which has successfully obtained licenses from both the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) and the Industrial Development Authority (IDA), and launched its first product, "ADALIMAB", last December. Additionally, he discussed the localization of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) through the establishment of the "ARAB API" factory in the Ain Sokhna Investment Zone, marking the first multi-purpose facility for producing pharmaceutical raw materials in Egypt and the Middle East.
For his part, Eng. Mohamed Zada expressed his appreciation for the pioneering and national role played by Dr. Kelani and EIPICO. Both parties discussed avenues for business development and overcoming challenges in alignment with the Egyptian state's vision to ensure national drug security. Furthermore, Eng. Mohamed Zada extended an invitation to Dr. Kelani to participate in the upcoming initiatives for developing industrial chambers, recognizing his extensive expertise in the pharmaceutical sector and his earnest forward-looking vision for localizing and deepening Egypt's drug manufacturing.
