ARAB API & PETROJET A Collaboration Evolving into Strategic Partnership April 14, 2026
Dr. Ahmed Kelani Chairman of ARAB API and Chairman & Managing Director of EIPICO , welcomed a high-level delegation from PETROJET ,
to explore avenues of cooperation between the two companies in the field of Active pharmaceutical ingredients manufacturing.
Where ARAB API presented its vision & objective to establish the first multi-purpose facility in the Middle East for fully manufacturing APIs.
The project will be developed over an area of 96,000 square meters in the Suez Canal Economic Zone in Elsokhna.
While PETROJET ’s delegation also showcased the company’s extensive capabilities and global expertise in executing integrated projects across the oil, gas, petrochemical, industrial, and infrastructure sectors—areas that are closely aligned with pharmaceutical & APIs manufacturing facilities.
This meeting comes as part of ARAB API’s accelerated and serious efforts to commence project execution, following the groundbreaking ceremony held earlier in January of this year.
This strategic project represents a pivotal milestone in deepening and localizing the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt.
It is expected to significantly reduce the country’s import bill for pharmaceutical raw materials while also opening new export opportunities.
The plant targets an annual production capacity of 750 tons of APIs and 500 tons of intermediates.
It is worth noting that ARAB API has an authorized capital of EGP 4 billion and a paid-in capital of EGP 1 billion.
