TANTUM VERDE MOUTH WASH & GARGLE
Composition Each 100 ml contains:
Benzydamine hydrochloride 0.15 g
Properties and Mode of Action TANTUM VERDE, benzydamine hydrochloride, is a locally-acting nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent with local anaesthetic and analgesic properties providing both rapid and extended pain relief as well as a significant anti-inflammatory treatment for the painful inflammatory conditions of the mouth and throat.
TANTUM VERDE being selectively bound to inflamed tissues is virtually free of any adverse systemic effects.
TANTUM VERDE may be used alone or as an adjunct to other therapy giving the possibility of increased therapeutic effect with little risk of interaction.
Indications
Odontostomatology: gingivitis, stomatitis, glossitis, aphthous ulcers, dental surgery and oral ulceration due to radiation therapy.
Otorhinolaryngology: pharyngitis, tonsillitis, post-tonsillectomy, radiation or intubation mucositis.
Dosage and Administration Rinse or gargle with 15 ml (approximately 1 tablespoonful) every 1 1/2 to 3 hours as required for pain relief.
TANTUM VERDE should generally be used undiluted, but if stinging occurs the rinse may be diluted with water in a ratio of (1:1).
The solution should be expelled from the mouth after use.
TANTUM VERDE is not suitable for children who are unable to gargle.
Contra_indications There are no contraindications to the use of TANTUM VERDE except for known hypersensitivity.
Side effects
TANTUM VERDE is well tolerated. Occasionally oral tissue numbness or
<< stinging >> sensations may occur.
