Properties and Mode of Action
FURAZOL combines the complementary actions of two well-established drugs, diloxanide furoate, the luminal amoebicide and metronidazole, the potent tissue amoebicide.
Both, acting synergistically and rapidly, produce high parasitological and clinical cure rates.
Diloxanide furoate and metronidazole, as well as treating intestinal amoebiasis, clear amoebic cysts from the intestine and cure liver abscess with no relapses.
FURAZOL is well-tolerated and provides comprehensive treatment for both intestinal and extra-intestinal amoebiasis independent of additional drugs.

Indications
Acute intestinal amoebiasis.
Chronic intestinal amoebiasis.
Extra-intestinal amoebiasis.
Giardiasis.

Dosage and Administration
Adults: 2 tablets 3 times daily for 5 - 10 days.
Children 2 - 5 years: 1/2 - 1 teaspoonful 3 times daily for 5 - 10 days.
Children 6 - 10 years: 1 1/2 - 2 teaspoonfuls 3 times daily for 5 - 10 days.
Children 11 - 12 years: 1 1/2 dessertspoonful 3 times daily for 5 - 10 days.

Contra_indications
Though there is no absolute contraindication to the use of FURAZOL, it is still preferably avoided in pregnancy.

Side effects
Side effects withFURAZOL is usually well-tolerated but flatulence and mild gastric upset may occur in hypersensitive individuals.
Metallic taste or darkening of urine may also occur.
