Properties and Mode of Action
KAPECT COMPOUND is a palatable flavoured suspension containing the synergistically-acting combination of sulphamethoxazole and trimethoprim which has a bactericidal spectrum against a wide range of G-ve and G+ve bacteria.
It is thus useful and effective for the treatment of infective diarrhoea caused by bacteria susceptible to sulphamethoxazole and trimethoprim.
KAPECT COMPOUND also contains the simple, safe and efficient combination of kaolin and pectin essential for the treatment of diarrhoea. Both kaolin and pectin adsorb gases, bacteria and toxins from the gastrointestinal tract and in addition pectin acts as a demulcent providing a coating for the bowel.
